Folks, we had a fun question recently about which is the most important to train between mechanics, strength, or flexibility. There's a catch here, that being that we are assuming that we can only train indoors. Being from Oklahoma, that's a reality over the winter, so we are well familiar. Let me start off by stating the obvious that all of these aspects are incredibly important, but I do have a winner in mind. Mechanics are great, we talk positions on here too much for me to say anything different. However, they aren't my winner. What about strength? No. Flexibility? Incredibly important, but still no. I'm cheating here by taking option D, the 'all of the above.' We've talked about the Two Birds mentality a lot recently, and this is another case of that. In your swing, you use all three of the aspects I was talking about earlier. If your mechanics are poor, the ball won't go straight. If your strength is poor, the ball won't go far. If your flexibility is lackluster, your body won't go far. Join Tim Graves, PGA, as he breaks down the Two Birds philosophy as it applies to winter training.

While there will likely never be any way around this (and I'd happily be wrong about that) we can do things to help minimize the loss over time. Flexibility and mobility would be the two big things to keep in mind ...

Quick Tips - Pre-Round Stretch
If there's anything I know from my time in sports, it's that your success when playing is directly tied to your pre-round or pre-game routine. Athletic activities are strenuous, and if you don't properly take care of yourself, a bad round could be the least of your problems. Not stretching and wa...
