Coaching, coaching, coaching. You hear us at Graves Golf talk about it all the time, and I've written about it a few times myself, but let me give you a bit of a personal story about myself. The Million-Dollar Arm, Dr. Tom House, two kids turned from rookies into players of an exceptional caliber. I won't spoil the ins and outs of the movie itself, but it is a good watch for the sports movie enjoyers out there. I worked with Dr. House for a while in my days as a pitcher, and while I'd had outstanding pitching coaches before, none were quite like Dr. House. He's a unique guy, who was quipping at all times. I had the nickname 'noodle arm' with him, another pitcher in the class who was abnormally tall for his age got the nickname 'Tarzan.' Truthfully, it takes a bit of a screw loose to make a good pitcher, and our coaches were no different than we were. A good coach won't just teach you how to do something, they'll teach you thinking skills that will help you better yourself even when they aren't available. Golf, and indeed pretty much all of sporting, is a mechanical game. Lots of people can teach you the what's, you need a coach to tell you the why's. All my Level 3 folks out there, your path to improvement is right there in front of you. Let 'em know Triston sent you. Have a good day, y'all. Thanks for humoring a bit of baseball chat within the golf stuff.

When you get over a shot, it can be all too easy to think yourself in circles, second guess, and ultimately not achieve your desired result. In reality, it doesn't need to be that hard. Those who have been around and paying att...

Quick Tips - Pro vs Schmo
Stop me if this sounds familiar. It's the day of a round, important or not, and you're out on the driving range warming up. A few shots down the range in, and you know it's going to be your day. The ball is flying straight, and you're making a clean connection with each of your clubs. Naturally, ...
