Let's not beat around the bush today. If you're going to develop your short game, one of the most important things you can be focusing on is your distance control. Simply put, distance control is the biggest part of the equation when it comes to reducing your strokes on the green, let me break that down. Okay, so here we are. You're on hole three at our home course here in Edmond. You flew the creek, but your ball has rolled off the back side of the green. No big deal, if we can make it up and down, we might just save par here. I do know one thing, and that's that if we roll off the back of the green, we are going to end up either wet or sandy. This is where distance control comes in. If you've got the feel and you've put in the work, it's actually a fairly manageable situation.
