If there is a major through line in the things that we teach, it's that everything is about giving yourself the best chance possible. Success is never guaranteed, and as nice as it would be if golf was the exception, I think we all know that it follows the exact same rule. Today we talk putting, specifically we are talking how to miss. As I said earlier, success is never guaranteed, but sometimes, you do get lucky, but even then, you do need to make your own luck. On the green, we do that by missing high and long. The 'long' is pretty self-explanatory, you can't make it in the hole if you never make it to the hole in the first place. The 'high' is more of a playing the green sort of deal. Ideally, you want the ball to break towards the hole, and not away. Join Tim Graves, PGA, as he explains why the pros like to miss 'high and long.'
