Triston here, as always with these Quick Tips. I've been spending more time out on the range recently, and by far the biggest learning curve to me has been anything to do with irons or wedges, particularly the former. At the moment, I have a hard time making a divot. While editing this Quick Tip, I realized that my problems with an iron are not entirely unfamiliar to me. Hopefully I don't catch flak for this, but let's talk baseball for a second. Mechanics are incredibly important on the mound. The two most important part of a pitcher's mechanics are the glove and the head. The glove stays in front of the pitcher, somewhere between the chest and neck, and the head should stay level and online all the way through delivery. For every inch that either of these deviate, the result will deviate two to three inches. Now that you know that, my little mound visit is over. I say all that to point out that slightly errant mechanics will compound in the end result. That might sound like a lot to handle if you're really struggling with your swing, but like I was explaining in my baseball analogy, problems in the swing being diagnosable is a real blessing. It's never an issue of skill, it's an issue of actually paying attention, and getting outside feedback. The level 3 folks are nodding their heads at the moment. While I could teach you how to throw a two-seam, you're here to improve your wedge and iron game, so let me pass this on over to Tim Graves, PGA, for this edition of Single Plane Quick Tips.

Quick tip - Over the Top
If you had to choose, which of the positions would you say is the most difficult for you? Personally, I've been learning the swing myself, and for me, the transition from position 2 to 3 has had the biggest learning curve. I'm a baseball guy, and I didn't hit in college since I was a pitcher, but...

Quick Tip - From Long to Short
We've talked about awkward distances from time to time, but always from a standpoint of club selection. That information is good to have, obviously, but it doesn't cover the mechanical side of dealing with different ranges of shot. It might seem like full swing mechanics and short game mechanics ...
